COUTTS/AIG UPDATE – NOVEMBER 2011

As I have failed to reach a settlement with Coutts I filed a Writ early this year with the High Court and am proceeding with the litigation process. The case is likely to take another year before reaching trial in the High Court in November 2012. It is regrettable that Coutts has decided not to support its clients and settle this matter. Nevertheless, I am personally committed to holding Coutts to account.

It seems that Coutts has now agreed, under pressure from the FSA, to mount an internal enquiry regarding its past sales into the Enhanced Variable Rate Fund. I think it's pretty amazing that it's taken Coutts over three years to decide to find out what went wrong! Anyway, I am pressing ahead with my legal action and will continue until this is resolved.
